In the olden days guess how they made butter? We found out how. Our class sat in circle, then we shook a jar of salt and cream. We put on butter bread  it was good.

Holiday Highlight

Walt: Write a recount about Immersion Assembly or a Holiday Highlight

Last week I went with my family to the warehouse to get some clothes. I got some skeleton pants, new shoes, socks and Avengers shorts. I also got a new jumper with the letter A on it and some blue pajamas.  Mum and dad got two new xbox controllers so me and my brothers can all play wrestling together.

I got given a PS3 from George. It has two USB ports one is for the controller and one for the PS3 mic so you can sing.  

On Sunday we all  went to the Avondale flea market. My dad and me went to look at xbox games. We saw a wrestling belt and a microphone that talked when you push the button. Some people were also selling microphone PS2.

Basketball

Walt: Write simple and complex sentences

On Monday straight away after morning tea my maths class goes to the hall  for basketball. My coaches names are Vinnie and Shanice. We sat down, Vinnie holds a basketball and shows us some skills. After that it’s time to have fun.  

The skills I have learnt are how to shoot properly. I have  learnt to catch the ball and pass the ball. I use my left hand to dribble the ball. One game we played was called golden child. Boys go on one side and girls go on the other side for competitions. Boys throw the ball in hoop and the girls had to run. If I get the ball in the hoop I yell “STOP’’ and the girls have to stop. Then it is the next person’s turn.

When I finish basketball I feel tired and hot. My class puts their hands in a  circle and we shout “BASKETBALL” and everyone lifts up their arms. It is  fun to play basketball.

The Chocolate Game

We sat in circle on the floor. I had to roll six on a dice. when  I got a six I  put on the black suit jacket, black sunhat, on pink flowery lei, black feathery boa, sunglasses  and a silver tiara. After I put the clothes on I used a fork and knife to cut the  cadbury chocolate But I didn’t get the chocolate because someone else got a six.

Revival got a  piece of chocolate because she got a six on the dice then she put on 6 things. Montel got one piece of chocolate that Revival. I was annoyed  when the dice went around the floor and  people were getting a six when I was putting the clothes on. I wanted a big piece of chocolate, but didn’t get any.

On 25th April 2015 there was an earthquake in Nepal. It is North of India. It was a big earthquake and there were heaps of aftershocks. People  held onto the gates because they were scared  of the earthquakes.

Over 5000 people died. The ground  was shaking and bricks were falling from the buildings. People ran into the middle of the road so the buildings wouldn’t fall on them. Some people were buried alive.

in the Holidays me and my brothers Seluone and bradley took our mttrss’s into the sitting room. We took our pillows and blankets too because we were going to sleep in the lounge.  It was so we could stay warm.

Year 5 and 6 Camp 2015

WALT: - Use interesting vocabulary throughout paragraphs. - Write an entertaining recount about our camp experience last week.

Last week on wednesday year five and six Camp started. Started camp. The camp was at Pt England  school. Everybody slept in tents. There were 6 groups their names were Honest Squad, Commitments, Real Dealz, True Crew, Matapono e and All Stars.

Our first activity on Wednesday was dance practice, it was for camp concert, then we had morning tea. After we ate, my group Honest Squad went to the hall for sports games. I played ping pong and basketball with my friend it was hot but it was fun. We had a filled roll for lunch in the big tent.

After lunch Honest Squad went to the bottom field by the park and played Top Town against the All  Stars. In Top Town we threw water balloons at the other team and they got really wet.  

My favourite part of  camp was going to Mangere pools. Everyone sat down in our lines when we got there. It was massive inside the pools. They had 5 pools outside. I went down the waterslide heaps of times on a square board, I was the fastest. At the deep pool people were having bombing contests. They jumped off the diving board  and splashed water   everywhere. I was sad to leave because I wanted to stay and keep swimming.   

River Talks

Last week on Thursday, rooms 6, 7 and 8 went  to Omaru   creek for river Talks. When we got there we sat down with some other schools. A warrior walked up to us, he was wearing a plastic bag and  had chain and rubbish on his right leg.
